Jaycee Day

I am an artist and designer with a Bachelors in Graphic Design from George Fox University. Although my degree calls me a graphic designer, I do not confine myself to digital media alone. With an extended background in studio art, the integration of raw materials in my work is extremely important. I create in hopes of translating raw statements for the everyday person to communicate with and contemplate the intention behind the work.

My creativity stems from the realization that I, as well as the clients I work with, cannot accurately express thoughts and feelings through words alone. Having to string together a line of words limits the capacity to express my thoughts; it forces me to use a language that may not accurately depict what I’m trying to say. Through art, I communicate my thoughts in a way that others can understand without having to actually speak a single word. With that, I hope that others do the same or find their own way to speak without words. As Banksy once said,

“There’s nothing more dangerous than someone who wants to make the world a better place.”
